After setting up fixtures and creating pallets for movement, color, gobo, etc., you’re ready to program DMX cues for your performance. Start by creating a new show to familiarize yourself with DMX operation in iQ Pro:
1. Label a group (e.g., “DMX Test”), add a track, and choose DMX as the option. 2. Name your cue (e.g., “All Lights to Center”) and decide on any delays for when the cue starts relative to the music or video. 3. Select pallets for your cue, specifying details like speed setting, color, gobo, prism, and position. Note: avoid selecting lamp on for positional cues to ensure seamless transitions.
You can duplicate cues for efficiency, making slight adjustments as needed. This method simplifies programming, as you won’t need to remember each setting for every cue. For example, you can easily change a light’s color from blue to red without affecting other attributes.
